Harvey Award winning artist José Villarrubia is a professor in the Illustration Department of the Maryland Institute College of Art. He has also been nominated for the Eisner Award twice and regularly works as a colorist for all the major American comic publishers (Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Dark Horse Publishing, Image, Valiant). His collaboration with Paul Pope, Batman Year 100, won the Eisner as Best Limited Series. As an illustrator, he is best known for his collaborations with Alan Moore: Promethea, Voice of the Fire and The Mirror of Love and coloring Richard Corben: CAGE, Conan, Ghost Rider, Starr the Slayer. Last year he edited the series Infidel (Image Comics) which is being turned into a feature film.
In 2017, Jose received Heroes Comic Con Madrid’s “Best Colorist” Carlos Gimenez Award.
